To Travel is to take a journey into yourself

The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist

The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist

The key factors to an amazing road trip are :

  • Good company (you don’t want to travel with a bunch of grumps)
  • Empty roads and gorgeous landscapes

And last but not the least : A good playlist.

Music is primordial for the quality of the road trip. It’s setting up the atmosphere, the mood, it’s everything really. Also it keeps the driver alert and awake which is a plus.

This is just my opinion of what a great sounding road trip playlist should be, I’m in no way a music expert. Let me know what you think! I’m open for more suggestions for my next road trips!

Escape (The Pina Colada Song) – Rupert Holmes

Pretty classic song, One of my all time favourites, I’ll never get tired of it. Don’t you dare say it’s a cheesy song!

Sweat (a la la la) – Inner Circle

Guilty pleasure song to sing along to and mess around. Don’t listen to it with your parents though… might become awkward…

Ça plane pour moi – Plastic Bertrand

Glorious French 80’s Pop. Catchy. Silly. Don’t worry if you don’t understand french, doesn’t even make sense for people who do.

Go Your Own Way – Fleetwood Mac

A Good road trip playlist can’t be complete without a Fleetwood Mac song of course!

Spread Your Wings – Queen

Same goes for Queen. If I could I would just put all of their song on this list but I’m trying to make it as diverse as possible. Don’t you just feel like you can accomplish anything with this song? I always get my confidence boosted whenever I listen to it.

I’m Picky – Shaka Ponk

Another gem of a song from an awesome French Band. It will make you want to bang your head to the beat, I guarantee it. If you don’t, well, I’m sorry to break it to you like that but you are an android and you have no soul.

Superstition – Stevie Wonder

Get your groove on with this funky beat and enjoy the road with one of the coolest song ever made.

Boogie Wonderland – Earth, Wind and Fire

Another Disco one, what can I say? I just love the 70s so much

Message in the Bottle – The Police

“I’ll send an SOS to the World” will be stuck in your head for the entire journey.

Red Red Wine – UB40

Let’s cool it down with a little Reggae vibe. Relax for a while, let the music flow through you. (This was me trying to sound like an Old 80s Disc Jockey)

Wonder What You’re Doing For The Rest of Your Life – Train

This song never fails to lift my spirit and it’s really easy to sing along to it.

Dancing in the moonlight – Toploader

Another fun, happy song to get your mojo back in case of heavy rain during the trip.

Play That Funky Music – Wild Cherry

Yes. Another 70s song. I am predictable. There’s just so much good music that came from that era it’s not my fault.

Tobacco Road – Tha Nashville Teens

I discovered this song while watching an episode of Mad Men. Don Draper is just so cool man and this song is so badass.

Jumpin’ Jack Flash – The Rolling Stones

I just get instant swagger from listening to the Stones. I’m insecure, generally anxious but when I listen to this I get a huge confidence boost.

Put your sunglasses on, hands on the wheel and channel your inner Keith Richards

Fluorescent Adolescent – Arctic Monkeys

Sometimes you like a song so much and you can’t even explain why. I don’t know how many times I put it on repeat. The Killer clowns in the music video are nice as well.

Ça C’est Vraiment Toi – Telephone

A French 80s Hit. Our own national Rolling Stones.

Shake Your Booty – KC & The Sunshine Band

Shake it.

Pure Energy.

Full Steam Spacemachine – Royal Republic

From the coolest Swedish band (after ABBA of course), a catchy rock tune to stay awake on the road.

Cheers – À Bientôt – สวัสดีค่ะ
